About Your

Podiatrists

Cutting Edge Podiatry is a patient-centric podiatry clinic that employs a holistic approach designed to listen to you, your body, and understand your health.

Suvanne launched Cutting Edge Podiatry in 2012. She has considerable experience in both the NHS and private practice and prides herself on delivering quality treatments at affordable rates.

Presenting clients may have different complaints and problems requiring a multi-disciplinary approach to achieve resolution. Suvanne has been working within a private multi-disciplinary environment for over 9 years and therefore has the experience and knowledge of when to refer and the most appropriate place to refer to.

Meet the Team

Suvanne Southgate

HCPC registered

I have been a qualified podiatrist for 24+ years. I graduated from Northampton School of Podiatry in 2000 with an upper 2:1 degree following a successful 11 year career in the RAF. These days I am a keen golfer (time permitting) but previously I enjoyed playing hockey to a high standard, playing National League Indoor Hockey and RAF, Combined Services Hockey and ran the London Marathon in 2005.  I enjoyed most sports and this provided the basis for my interest in biomechanics. I completed my Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics from Stafford University in 2003.

I have worked in both the NHS and a multi-disciplinary practice specialising in biomechanics. I was also the Podiatrist to Ipswich Town Football Club for 8 years. I am now in private practice in Cambridge. I worked in the NHS as a Wound Care Specialist for 7 years in a part time capacity for the North East London Foundation Trust

I am a member of the College of Podiatry and registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), our professional body which ensures standards are met and also that we have maintained a programme of Continued Professional Development (CPD).

Jon Southgate

Jon Southgate

Practice Manager

Jon has had a privileged career to date. Originally cabinet maker trained, he went on to run his own business, including antique restoration. Alongside this he became a part-time firefighter in Ipswich for 2 ½ years. This led Jon to join Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service full-time in 1988, where he enjoyed a 30-year career. By the time of his retirement in 2018, he was Deputy Divisional Commander responsible for around 120 staff across 6 fire stations.

Jon then became a Quality Assurance inspector of providers of Special Educational needs for Suffolk children and young people, which was incredibly rewarding. He then took on the role of the Business Continuity Manager for Suffolk County Council, just as the UK went into lockdown. So, this was an unprecedented time to look after the residents of Suffolk.

Jon is a keen motorcyclist, having competed in motocross in his younger days and he is planning a return to the track in 2024. He loves all things DIY, history, walking, golf, cooking, and eating good food too!

Jon volunteers for Suffolk Lowland Search & Rescue – searching for missing vulnerable people across Suffolk at any time of the day or night and also teaches motorcycle safety courses for Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service.

Jon is proud to be the husband of Suvanne, the owner and senior podiatrist at Cutting Edge Podiatry as Practice Manager. He is also undertaking his Foot Health Practitioner diploma, so he will be able to help out with routine foot care at the clinic. He looks forward to meeting you one day.
